BUDAPEST, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- China's Chang Yong claimed the title of the flyweight (52kg) category on Saturday at the Bosckai Memorial Boxing Tournament in Debrecen, eastern Hungary.
Chang beat Shin Dongmyung of South Korea on points 21-11. China's other boxer1 on the finals day of the prestigious2 international tournament was Meng Fanlong who lost 17-10 to Russian Nikita Ivanov in the light heavyweight (81kg) final.
Elsewhere, Shin Jong Hun of South Korea took gold in the light flyweight (46-49kg) final, beating Istvan Ungvari of Hungary 12-6, while Vislan Dalkhaev of Russia beat Michal Zatorsky of Slovakia 14-9 in the bantamweight (56kg) category.
Dmitry Bivol also won gold for Russia in the middleweight (75kg) category defeating Zoltan Harcsa of Hungary on points 14-7.
British boxers3 claimed two golds in Debrecen. The first came in the light welterweight (64kg) division when Thomas Stalker overwhelmed Russia's Vitaly Dunaytsev to win 24-9 on points. And Joshua Antony won the super heavyweight(+91kg) gold after his opponent Sardor Abdullaev of Uzbekistan retired4 in the third round.
Uzbekistan had earlier picked up a gold as Fazliddin Gaibnazarov was awarded a walkover in the lightweight (60kg) final against his opponent Dmitry Polyanskiy of Russia.
Hosts Hungary had reason for cheer as local boxers won two golds. The2010 European champion Balazs Bacskai beat Vasilii Belous of Moldova 18-8 in the welterweight (69kg) final, while in an exciting heavyweight(91kg) final, Jozsef Darmos edged Rustam Tulaganov of Uzbekistan on points 12-11. A total of 114 participants from 21 countries and regions took part in the tournament, which is the 56th time the annual event has been organized.
