        NEW YORK, April 2 (Xinhua) -- The 5.8-magnitude earthquake which hit Panama earlier Wednesday has been revised to be 6.0 on the Richter scale, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

　　The quake jolted¹ 52 km south of Pedregal, Panama at 16:13:27 GMT Wednesday, with no immediate² report of damage.

　　The epicenter, with a depth of 31.56 km, was initially³ determined⁴ to be at 7.9043 degrees north latitude⁵ and 82.345 degrees west longitude⁶.

　　The earthquake happened less than one day after Chile was hit by an 8.2-magnitude quake which killed six people.
