稳字当头 我国一季度GDP同比增6.9%

 　　China's economy got off to a rosy¹ start in the first quarter, with gross domestic product (GDP) growing at 6.9% year-on-year, said the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) last Monday.

　　国家统计局上周一表示，一季度我国经济开局良好，国内生产总值(GDP)同比增长6.9%。

　　This beat previous market expectations of 6.8% and came well above the annual growth target of around 6.5% set in this year's government work report.

　　这一数字超出了此前6.8%的市场预期，且远高于今年政府工作报告中所制定的6.5%左右的年度增长目标。

　　GDP growth in the first three months remained steady at 0.2 percentage point higher than a year ago, showing a stabilizing² trend in the economy, analysts³ said.

　　分析人士称，一季度GDP增速持稳，较一年前增长了0.2个百分点，这表明经济走势趋稳。

　　Although consumption growth dropped slightly, an uptick in infrastructure⁴ investment and a higher export growth have contributed to the stable growth.

　　Improvement in industrial production is also a major contributor to the stable growth in the first quarter, according to the NBS.

　　Analysts predicted the economy will continue to grow in a stable manner in the second quarter, despite some unfavorable factors.
