Searching on missing Chinese in Afghanistan attack still underway: embassy
Chinese Embassy to Afghanistan has confirmed with Xinhua searching on the final missing Chinese citizen during the Thursday attack in Afghanistan's capital of Kabul is still underway.

Iraq bombing wave kills more than 60
More than 60 people were killed and over 200 others wounded in a wave of bombings attacks across Iraq on Saturday, mostly in the capital Baghdad, according to latest data given by officials and local media.
A total of 12 car bombs went off in Baghdad, mostly targeting markets, restaurants and cafes, killing3 more than 30 people and injured over 100 others as Iraqis were celebrating the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Heavy rain to hit northern China
Modest to heavy rain will hit northeast China and north China in the coming three days.
The National Meteorological Center says from Sunday to Tuesday, eastern parts of northwest China, north China, northeast China, as well as parts of southwest China's Sichuan Basin and Yunnan Province will see modest to heavy rainfall, with some areas experiencing torrential rain.

10 dead, five injured in SW China road accident
Ten people have been killed and another five injured in a road accident in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The accident, involving a minibus, happened Sunday morning in Agang Town of Luoping County. The driver died along with nine others, including a pregnant woman.
The injured passengers have been hospitalized.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, but it seemed the minibus driver was responsible for the accident.
Two dead, 9 missing after Chinese boat capsizes
Rescuers have retrieved6 two bodies and are still searching nine others who went missing after their fishing vessel7 capsized in sea waters off east China's Shandong Province on Saturday morning.
The city government of Qingdao has mobilized 14 fishing vessels8, two rescue helicopters, two military vessels and four maritime9 enforcement ships for the rescue.
Divers10 managed to enter the cabin of the boat, but did not find any trapped fishermen inside.
The rescue effort is still under way. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Chinese gov't calls on celebrities11 to take up social responsibilities
Chinese Internet celebrities have been urged to take up more social responsibilities and play a more constructive12 role.
An official with the State Internet Information Office has told a meeting in Beijing that internet celebrities, who have notable influence on public opinions in virtual society, should deliver more positive and constructive messages to Chinese netizens.
He said the government expects them to uphold law and order as well as promote virtues13 and trust.
China's social networks have developed fast in recent years with more than 1.2 billion accounts opened on about 103 microblogging networks.
Mainland welcomes more Taiwan mayors to boost cross-Strait ties
The Chinese mainland's Taiwan affairs chief Zhang Zhijun says the mainland welcomes and encourages personages from various Taiwan political parties and more mayors to participate in the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations.
He made the remarks while meeting Chen Chu, the mayor of southern Taiwan's Kaohsiung city, who is visiting the mainland's port city of Tianjin.
Zhang Zhijun reaffirmed the mainland's stance of supporting exchanges between cities across the Strait, saying the current development of cross-Strait ties manifests that peaceful development is one sure path and the common aspiration14 of compatriots from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Beijing to host 24th World Congress of Philosophy
China's capital Beijing will host the 24th World Congress of Philosophy (WCP) in 2018.
This was announced in Athens at the closing ceremony of the 23rd WCP.
It will be the first time for China to host the international meeting, organized by the International Federation15 of Philosophical16 Societies every five years.
According to FISP, the 24th WCP will be organized by the Department of Philosophy, Peking University.
