Army vehicles head to downtown Cairo to contain clashes
Egyptian military armored vehicles headed to Ramses Square in downtown Cairo on Friday evening to contain the ongoing1 clashes between supporters of ousted2 president Mohamed Morsi and residents of the area.
Reports say the army vehicles moved a few hours after the curfew started and the clashes were still going on.
Ramses Square has been in a mess throughout the day, as a large number of pro-Morsi protesters engaged in clashes with some of the residents as well as with security forces, which led to a lot of damage, including a building set ablaze3.
The confrontations4 across the country left at least 37 killed and around 400 injured on Friday, according to official reports.

Nearly 100 trapped in central China floods
Nearly 100 people in central China's Hunan Province have been trapped due to torrential rain that started hitting the province two days ago.
Local authorities say the trapped are from four villages in Lanshan County in the city of Yongzhou.
Precipitation in the past 36 hours has reached nearly 400 mm in some areas in the county. Water levels on the Shunshui River, which runs near the county, are above safe levels.
Armed police and firefighters have been dispatched to rescue the trapped villagers.
