Sochi President Putin visits Olympic village ahead of games
The Olympic torch and the medals have now arrived in Sochi, Russia ahead of the opening of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Over 130 new cases of the H7N9 virus have been reported here in China so far this year, with over 25 dying.
One murderer of USC Chinese students sentenced to life in prison
One of the two men accused of murdering a pair of Chinese college students at the University of Southern California in the spring of 2012 has been sentenced to life in prison.
21-year old Bryan Barnes has no possibility of parole.
Barnes pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree murder, which could have seen him been given the death penalty, as the parents of the victims had been asking for.
The other suspect in the case, 21-year old Javier Bolden, is awaiting a pre-trial hearing in the coming months.
