Lesson 53 Country Life

　　My parents prefer¹ to live in the country.
The streets there are cleaner². The air isfresher and the people are nicer andfriendlier. Besides³, it is busier and noisier inthe city. But above all, it is safer to live in thecountry. My parents believe⁴ in the saying,"Safety first."
 
     乡间生活 
我爸妈比较喜欢住在乡下。那儿的街道比较干净。空气较新鲜，人也比较好，比较友善。而且，都市里比较忙碌，也比较吵。不过最重要的是，住在乡下较安全。我爸妈都相信这句格言：“安全至上。”  

1 prefer

4 believe   

v.相信；认为

参考例句：

• Believe it or not,that's the way it is.信不信由你，反正事情就是这样。
