 The National Assessment¹ Program in Australian schools has failed to score highly in a survey of more than 8,000 teachers. More than half say they now spend more time teaching for the Naplan test and less time on face-to-face learning. 

 

 

 

A group of scientists are going into battle against parents who refuse to have their children immunized. There's been a six-fold increase in the number of the so-called vaccine² objectors. The man accused of murdering Sunshine Coast teenager Daniel Morcombe is due to face a committal hearing in Brisbane today. Forty-two-year-old Brett Peter Cowan is accused of taking Daniel while he waited for a bus in December, 2003. The hearing is expected to last two weeks.
