Breaking news at the Disney World in central Florida--an accident. Here is this amazing picture we got from one of our i-Reporters. This accident, this crash, involving two monorail trains killed one of the operators. A witness, I spoke1 on the phone, told us one of the trains ran into another train that was just already stopped there on the tracks. Details, still sketchy2, still coming in. There were several writers on at least one of the trains. The witness tells CNN he heard this massive crashing noise and saw debris3 falling from off that track.
The picture that you're looking at now that's actually on the, one of the trains back to the loading dock. And when we first saw, we were just getting off the track, the ferry. We were probably one of the last families in Disney because they closed today at one in the morning. And we were trying to, we were already actually leaving the park and we, I guess, I got off the ferry. We were going towards the exit which is where they were getting the tickets. And, we were about to enter the little, I guess, roof, and we heard a loud explosion. And when we all looked back, we noticed there the two trains had crashed and pieces of the monorails actually falling into the floor and beneath it. And a bunch of people are running from like under it. And then it like about 10 to 15 seconds later they moved the trains towards the loading dock.
An autopsy4 scheduled today for the body of a former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, he was found shot to death yesterday in a Nashville condo. Police say he had been shot a number of times, including once in the head. His body was found along with the body of a young woman. She was also shot and the gun found not far from her body. So far, no arrest in the case. Police also are saying they are not looking for suspects just yet in this case. Well, McNair retired5 from NFL last year after playing 13 seasons.
Some new legal trouble this morning for former Washington DC Mayor Marion Barry . The US Park Service arrested Barry on an accusation6 of stalking. You recall Barry was arrested on drug charges back in 1990 as part of the federal's sting operation. A Sgt. for the US Park Police told us Barry was not the target of any investigation7 this time around.
Simple issues at the United States Park Police enforces the law regardless people who are. I think it's very important to know that we absolutely did not pick Mr. Barry out.
Absolutely.
We were flagged down by this person who was complaining in this case.
Correct.
And it was seeking the assistance of a police officer and that person happened to been in the areas of the jurisdiction8 in the United States Park Police.
Now Barry has had several run-ins with police over the years after he did get busted9 on that 1990 drug charge. Actually he has lost his job as mayor, but then was reelected some years later. Currently he's serving as a member of the city's council there in Washington DC. He's now being charged with misdemeanor stalking and was later released. No word yet on when his court date will be.
