First up we're talking about winter weather. Now large snow storm in the northeastern US is not that unuausal. Then what happens in the end of April? That's a bit more unexpected, especially when it comes after the warmth March on record, and in winter that didn't have that much snow. It was a different story on Monday. Parts of New York were expecting ten inches of snow. Anywhere from 8 to 16 inches in Pennsylvania. One meteorologist said it won't last long. Temperatures are expected to go up this week. Bryan Tedd was in Pennsylvania on Monday as the snow came down. He was looking at one particular challenge when winter weather hits at this time of year.
As a heavy snow continues to fall here in north central Pennsylvania this is what officials here are primarily worried about. The snow kind of building up on the foliage2 the four foliage in a lot of the trees that has poped out of course in this late April. When the snow really searched to build up in this and other areas, it's going to make the trees very very heavy. Some of the trees are expected to collapse3 and fall on the paralle line that has already happened. We're told that more than 20000 customers in this area of northcentral Pennsylvania are without power. There are about 200 crews from the power electrical company panel like finding out all over this area . As for the roads here the main roads in this general area still are possible obviously to allow a lot of truck traffic and car traffic come through here. This is a corridor of road inter1 state 80 which is the major eastwest, a corridor for track route, but officials are concerned those routes may be disrupted, may be slowed down a little bit by the snow. It's interesting we're not a lot of the trucks there are out of power and so roads have had their plots and s... reattached to the n. taken all that could ... out 'cause not anticipating this weather they hitch4.
In some of those states struggling with severe weather yesterday, reporters are heading to the post today. There are republican presidencial primaries in New York and Pennsylvania, as well as Connecticut, Delaware and Rhodes Island. Former Massetchusetts' governor Mitt5 Romney is now the presumptive republican nominee6. He is expected to win the party's nomination7. The primary season isn't officially over, and governor Romney isn't the only republican candidate who still in the race. Former House speaker New D. and US representative R. Paul around the ballot8 in all five states holding contests today.
President Obama has spent part of the day on Monday focused on human rights. He visited the holycaust memorial museum as part of holycaust remembers's day. The holycaust was the systematic9 killing10 of millions of Jewish people by Nasi Germenay during WWII. During his visit to the museum President Obama announced that he will warm the presidencial meddle11 of freedom to young K to warn the world about the holycaust. The president also announced a new exacted order that aims to stop countries from using technology to abuse human rights. He's specifically talked about cellphone monitoring in Syria, and explained the importance of addressing global violence.
