New energy vehicles, or NEVs, are vehicles powered by batteries, hybrid¹ engines, or fuel-cells.

A total of 777,000 new energy vehicles were sold in the Chinese market last year, up 53.3 percent year on year, according to the China Association of Automobile² Manufacturers. 

China's stock of NEV is also the world's largest, with 1.53 million being driven in the country.

Chinese central government is continuing to push this green trasnport development through the use of national policies to coordinate³ the development of the industry.

1 hybrid
