Jim has a picture of a bunny. 吉姆有一张兔宝宝的照片，

He shows the picture to Susie and Abby. 他把照片拿给苏希和雅碧看。

The bunny's name is Peter. 那只兔宝宝名叫彼得，

Peter belongs² to Jim's son. 彼得是吉姆的儿子养的。

Jim and his son care³ for the bunny. 吉姆和他的儿子照顾那只兔宝宝，

They give him grass and vegetables to eat. 他们拿草和蔬菜给牠吃，

They clean his cage⁴, too. 还会清理牠的笼子。

Abby also likes bunnies. 雅碧也喜欢兔宝宝，

They are her favorite⁵ animals. 兔子是她最喜欢的动物。

It's my son's new pet. 是我儿子的新宠物。

Bunnies are so cute! 兔宝宝真是可爱！

What is his name? 牠叫什么名字？

His name is Peter. 牠叫彼得，

My son loves the story of Peter Rabbit. 因为我的儿子很喜欢彼得兔的故事。

Peter is a good name. 彼得是个很好的名字，

How old is he? 牠几岁了？

He is only 8 weeks old. 牠才八周大。

But how do you care for rabbits? 可是兔子要怎么照顾？

We give him food and water. 我们给牠食物和水，

Peter eats mostly⁷ grass. 彼得吃草为主，

We give him some vegetables, too. 但我们也会喂牠吃些蔬菜。

This is Peter. 这是彼得，

He belongs to my son. 牠是我儿子养的。

Bunnies are my favorite animal. 兔宝宝是我最喜欢的动物。

My son is so happy. 我儿子非常开心，

He loves bunnies, too. 他也很喜欢兔宝宝。

But they are a lot of work. 可是照顾兔子很花工夫，

Baby bunnies need lots of care. 兔宝宝尤其需要许多关爱。

1 nature

3 care   

n.小心，照料，忧虑；v.关心，照顾，喜爱，介意

参考例句：

• I really care about the students in my class.我的确喜欢这个班上的学生。
• Her work is to take care of the children.她的工作是照料好孩子。

4 cage   

n.笼子；v.关入笼中；vt.把...关入笼内

参考例句：

• He opened the cage and set the bird free.他打开鸟笼，放了鸟儿。
• There is a beautiful bird in the cage.鸟笼里有一只美丽的鸟。

5 favorite   

n.特别喜爱的(人)物；adj.特别喜爱的

参考例句：

• Spring and autumn are my favorite seasons.春秋是我喜欢的季节。
• Her most favorite fruit is orange.她最喜欢的水果是桔子。

6 conversation   

n.谈话，交谈

参考例句：

• Conversation is one of pleasures of life.交谈是人生一大乐趣。

7 mostly   

adv.主要地；大部分

参考例句：

• Our weather has been mostly warm.我们这里的天气多半是暖和的。

8 learning   

n.学问，学识，学习；动词learn的现在分词

参考例句：

• When you are learning to ride a bicycle,you often fall off.初学骑自行车时，常会从车上掉下来。

9 saw   

vbl.看见(see的过去式)；n.锯；v.用锯子锯

参考例句：

10 true   

a.真实，不假的；忠实，可靠的；正确无误的

参考例句：

• He who doesn't reach the Great Wall is not a true man.不到长城非好汉。
• I will come and see if it is true.我要来了解一下，是否真有其事。
