The brain craves¹ novelty but attempting to learn lots of new words or phrases at once can be overwhelming.大脑渴望新鲜知识，但如果一次性学习太多生词短语的话，

 

Novel concepts work best when they're mixed in with familiar information.

 

 

When you add new words to your vocabulary, tryspacing them in-between words you're already familiar with so they'll standout—your brain will latch² onto them more easily.

 

1 craves   

渴望，热望( crave的第三人称单数 )； 恳求，请求

参考例句：

• The tree craves calm but the wind will not drop. 树欲静而风不止。
• Victory would give him a passport to the riches he craves. 胜利将使他有机会获得自己梦寐以求的财富。

2 latch   

n.门闩，窗闩；弹簧锁

参考例句：

• She laid her hand on the latch of the door.她把手放在门闩上。
• The repairman installed an iron latch on the door.修理工在门上安了铁门闩。
