Mike: Sorry, my little brother and sister are taking forever to get ready to go. They should be here soon. Amanda: Are they excited about seeing the pandas? Mike: What pandas? Didn't you hear the news a while ago that they're fake? They're really brown bears with dyed fur. I bet by now they're completely brown! Amanda: How can you be so gullible¹? That was a joke! It was a false report for April Fools' Day. It was clever, but obviously not true. Mike: Oh, so that's why the girl who told me about it could hardly keep from laughing. I never keep up with the news myself. My brother and sister want to see the elephants that spray people. I want to see them too, but I don't want to get sprayed. Amanda: Yeah, their spray certainly isn't like water from a garden hose. The zoo has warning signs up now, and I think the elephants aren't allowed to get quite as close to the fence as they used to. My favorite animals are the lions and tigers, anything feline². Mike: Well there's a feline for you right here. Here comes my sister's cat! She even looks sort of like a lion.
