《迷魂记》（Vertigo¹，或译迷情记）是英国导演亚佛烈德·希区考克于1958年所执导的悬疑电影。由詹姆斯·史都华、金·露华、芭芭拉·贝儿格蒂主演。

《迷魂记》被广泛的评价为历史上最伟大的电影之一。2008年，此片上映整整50年后，美国电影学会将其评选为百年来最伟大的悬疑电影。该片讲述了从斯考蒂·费古森侦探和委托人妻子玛伦之间的恋情而展开的惊悚悬疑故事。

 

Vertigo is a 1958 psychological thriller² film directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Barbara Bel Geddes. The screenplay was written by Alec Coppel and Samuel A. Taylor, based on the 1954 novel "D'entre les morts". It is the story of a retired³ police detective suffering from acrophobia⁴ who is hired as a private investigator⁵ to follow the wife of an acquaintance to uncover the mystery of her peculiar⁶ behaviour. The film received mixed reviews upon initial release, but has garnered⁷ acclaim⁸ since and is now often cited as a classic Hitchcock film and one of the defining works of his career, appearing repeatedly in best films polls by the American Film Institute.

 

Vertigo premiered in San Francisco in May 1958 at the Stage Door Theater. Its performance at the box office was average and reviews were mixed. Variety said the film showed Hitchcock's "mastery", but was too long and slow for "what is basically only a psychological murder mystery". Similarly, the Los Angeles Times admired the scenery, but found the plot "too long" and felt it "bogs⁹ down" in "a maze¹⁰ of detail". However, the Los Angeles Examiner loved it, admiring the "excitement, action, romance, glamor¹¹ and [the] crazy, off-beat love story". New York Times film critic Bosley Crowther also gave Vertigo a positive review by explaining that "[the] secret [of the film] is so clever, even though it is devilishly far-fetched."
