A lot of people say, “You look great. I would never know you were 350 pounds, either.” Hi, my name is Kim Bensen. I lost a lot of weight, more than 200 pounds and I've been able to keep it off, working really hard at it. The question today is, is it OK to be fat? And I really have a real hard time with that question because what does OK mean? Like it is permissible1 or can you still love the person and I really have a hard time with the issue of fat, because are you talking about a pound overweight according to the government regulations or are you talking about morbid2 obesity3? So I really have a hard time with the question but I guess I've just had to give one word. It will be YES. It's OK to be fat because we all get to make personal choices in America. I'm really excited to be talking about such a really important topic as overweight or obesity the America.
