I like to recycle. It is quite refreshing² to take items that have been thrown away and redeem³ them to usefulness. After I was made redundant⁴ from my job, I took it upon myself as a form of self-refinement⁵ and self-regeneration to redress⁶ and refute my idleness by engaging in recycling.
A few days ago, I was roaming the streets in my pick-up truck looking for items that could be recycled when a flash of light caught my eye. It was the reflection in my mirror of the refraction of light from the sun hitting the surface of a refrigerator that someone had thrown out on the street. I put it in my pick-up truck and took it back to my garage, where many an abandoned item find refuge. The refrigerator could no longer refrigerate, so I checked the refrigeration unit and added some refrigerant. I plugged it in and it worked. I celebrated⁷ by having a few refreshments⁹ like a pot of tea, a box of cookies, a six-pack of beer, and a jar of kimchee. Afterwards, I put the leftovers¹⁰ in the refrigerator. It was wonderful that I was able to refurbish and regenerate¹¹ what someone had thrown away.
I have a recurring¹² dream. That is that our present regime will reform and refine recycling policies to include refrigerators. Otherwise, the problem of old refrigerators lining¹³ our streets will recur again and again. This kind of reformism will be helpful to our society and make the members of our society more refined.
