　　Australia and China: Meddle¹ kingdom 中澳关系：干预

　　New revelations about Chinese political donations set hands wringing². 对于来自中国政治捐款的新揭秘让澳大利亚人紧张不已。

　　When Malcolm Turnbull, Australia's prime minister, urged China earlier this month to respect “the sovereignty of others”,  当澳大利亚总理科姆·特恩布尔（Malcolm Turnbull）在本月初督促中国要尊重其他国家主权时，

　　many took it as criticism of China's expansive territorial³ claims in the South China Sea. 许多人把它当作对中国在中国南海扩大领土主张的批评。

　　But the comment might just as easily have been a reference to Australia's political parties. 但是此评论可能很容易成为澳大利亚政党参考。

　　All of them face questions about donations from businessmen linked to China's government. 他们所有人都面临着一个问题，那就是来自于那些与中国政府有关的商人的政治捐款。

　　A parliamentary inquiry⁴ in March called for a ban on political donations from foreign sources. 三月的一次议会调查呼吁禁止接受国外政治捐款。

　　Mr.Turnbull has endorsed⁵ the idea, as has Labor⁶, the main opposition⁷. 特恩布尔同意了这个意见，主要反对党工党同样表示赞同。

　　Yet on June 5th, three days after Mr.Turnbull's speech, a report by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reinflamed the controversy⁸. 然而就在特恩布尔演讲三天之后的6月5日，澳大利亚广播公司（ABC）的一次报道再次燃起了一场争论。

　　Two years ago both Labor and the Liberal-National alliance, which Mr. Turnbull heads,  两年前，工党和特恩布领导的自由国家联盟，
