It is the inventer of the compass, paper-making, gun-powder, and printing. Beijing is its capital. It is an exciting, modern, and historic³ city. It will host the 2008 Olympic Games. China is changing everyday. China is building itself into a modern and peace-loving nation. China warmly welcomes people from all over the world.

2. My View On The Internet

Our life is becoming more and more convenient⁴ because of the internet. We can do a lot of things through it. We can order books through an on-line bookstore. We can order cosmetics⁵, toys, clothes, tickets, etc. We can get any information we want through it. We can talk with other people through it. We can enjoy new movies. But some students spend a lot of time playing on-line games. Some watch dirty movies, and dirty pictures through it. These are bad for us. We should control ourselves. Even Bill Gates limits his daughters computer time to 45 minutes a day.

3. How To Be A Polite Citizen

As we all know, the Olympic Games will be held in Beijing in 2008. People from all over the world will come to Beijing. Chinese people are friendly and kind. There are however many differences that may lead to misunderstandings between foreigners and Chinese people, so we should know more about foreign cultures, and learn foreign languages as well. Besides, we shouldn't make too much noice in public places. And we should keep our surroundings⁶ clean and organized. We should all try our best to be courteous⁷, helpful, and polite. The Olympics are a great chance for China to show itself to the world. Let's make our country proud.
