1. Donald Trump¹ is preparing for his speech at the republican national convention Thursday night. The republican presidential nominee² will be introduced by his daughter Ivanka.

2. Meanwhile, Texas senator Ted³ Cruz is not backing down from his refusal to endorse⁴ his former rival. His speech on Wednesday was not taken well by many in the GOP, including Newt Gingrich, who said delegates were hoping Cruz would work to unify⁵ their party.

3. Secretary of state John Kerry hosted a global meeting to combat the Islamic State, with defense⁶ and foreign ministers attending from several countries. The Anti-IS coalition⁷ is working to rebuild Iraq as it takes territory from the militants⁸ and stop further attacks.

4. Sotheby's is hoping to break a world record for the price of a prewar car sold at auction⁹. Next month, they will put this 1939 Alfa Romeo up for auction and they hope it will fetch about $15 million.
