President Trump¹ signed executive actions Tuesday to advance construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines². The aggressive moves are a step in overhauling³ America's energy policy and dealt a swift blow to Barack Obama's legacy⁴ on climate change.

President Trump maintained the false claim that there were millions of illegal votes cast in the November election. White House Press Secretary said today the president's belief was based on studies and evidence but did not provide example.

Emboldened⁵ by President Trump's inauguration⁶, Israel approved plans to build 2500 new settler homes in the West Bank, signaling a major ramp-up of construction despite warnings from much of the international community that it undermines the two-state solution.

In Florida, a horse slipped into a deep, narrow ditch before crews were called out to make a tricky⁷ rescue. The rescue team blindfolded⁸ the horse and place a harness around its body before lifting the animal onto the road.
