Democrat¹ Gavin Newson finished first, Republican John Cox finished second in California's gubernatorial primary. The two will now face each other in November.

The White House says President Trump² and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will meet at a luxury resort in Singapore. The resort is more secluded³ than other options for next week's summit.

Dozens are known dead and close to 200 missing, days after a massive volcanic⁴ eruption⁵ in Guatemala. The ground is still too hot in some places for crews to search for survivors⁶ and victims.

And officials on Hawaii's Big Island say the Kilauea Volcano has destroyed hundreds more homes. Most residents in the newly affected⁷ areas had already evacuated⁸.
