 　　There is a sound of a man shifting¹ in his seat. A minute passes. 0121:13. Captain: Eh... really... sleepy. First Officer: Of course.

　　这时有个人挪了下椅子，一分钟过去了。1点21分13秒，机长：啊，真的……很困……(无法辨别的词)第一副驾：当然。

　　Then comes one of the most critical moments in the flight. The first officer decides to speak up:

　　然后进入最关键时刻，副驾决定讲出来。

　　First officer: Don't you think it rains more in this area, hear?

　　副驾：这是不是下雨了？

　　The first officer must have thought long and hard before making that comment.He was not flying in the easy collegiality of Suren Ratwatte's cockpit.

　　在决定讲这番话之前他一定想了很久。 因为他不是在怀特瓦特气氛轻松的驾驶舱里工作。

　　Among Korean Air crews, the expectation on layovers was that the junior officers would attend to the captain to the point of making him dinner or purchasing him gifts.

　　在大韩航空公司，所有飞行员都希望在中途休息时，下级能为机长安排就餐，送上礼物。

　　As one Korean Air pilot puts it, the sensibility in many of the airline's cockpits was that "the captain is in charge and does what he wants, when he likes, how he likes, and everyone else sits quietly and does nothing."

　　一位前大韩航空公司的飞行员指出，很多航空公司的机组人员都有敏感的话题，如机长是整架飞机的负责人，机长可以随心所欲地做他想做的事，其他人只是安静的坐在那里。

　　In the Delta² report on Korean Air that was post anonymously³ on the Internet, one of the auditors⁴ tells a story of sitting in on a Korean Air flight where the first officer got confused while listening to Air Traffic Control and mistakenly put the plane on a course intended for another plane.

　　大韩航空公司提交的德尔塔报告曾被匿名的发布在网上，其中一个故事提到，一名大韩航空公司副驾误解了ATC的指令，错误地进入本来是为其他飞机准备的跑道。

　　"The flight engineer picked up something was wrong but said nothing.First officer was also not happy but said nothing....

　　飞行工程师发现错误但是却没有指出，副驾虽不高兴但他什么都没有讲……

　　Despite good visual conditions, crew did not look out and see that current heading would not bring them to the airfield⁵."

　　除了(良好的)可视条件，机组人员都没有向外观看，并且没有注意到目前的飞行方向不能把他们带到机场去。

　　Finally, the plane's radar⁶ picks up the mistake, and then comes the key sentence:" Captain hit first officer with the back of his hand from making the error."

　　最后飞机的雷达系统提示了这个错误。然后是最关键的一句：因为这个失误，机长用手背打了副驾。

　　Hit him with the back of his hand?

　　用他的手背打他？

　　When the three pilots all met that evening at Kimpo with their preflight preparation, the first officer and the engineer would have bowed to the captain.

　　那天晚上，当他们三人为飞行计划做预先准备的时候，副驾和工程师都向机长鞠躬。

　　They would all have then shaken hands."It is first time to meet you," the copilot might have said respectfully⁷.
