 "Nix on swiping anything," suggested John Poldowski, solemnly¹.

"Very good," said Stuart. "Good law".

"Never poison² anything but rats," said Anthony Brendisi.

“不要毒死任何东西，除非大老鼠，”安东尼.布伦迪西说。

"That's no good," said Stuart.

“那不好，”斯图亚特说。

It's unfair to rats.

这对大老鼠不公平。

A law has to be fair to everybody.

一条法律应该对每个人都公平。

Anthony looked sulky.

安东尼.布伦迪西看起来很恼火。

"But rats are unfair to us," he said.

“但是大老鼠对我们也不公平，”他说。

Rats are objectionable.

"I know they are," said Stuart.

But from a rat's point of view, poison is objectionable.
