The National People's Congress, China's national legislature, has adopted a set of amendments¹ to the country's Constitution, the first amendment² to the country's fundamental law in 14 years.

In the Constitutional amendment, supervisory commissions are listed together with State administrative³, judicial⁴ and procuratorial organs, all of which are created by the people's congress to which they are accountable and by which they are supervised.

Also a draft decision on the institutional restructuring plan of the State Council is now being deliberated by the national legislature, along with a candidate list for China's new state leadership.
