 Feb 14th, 1929The "St. Valentine's Day Massacre¹" takes place in Chicago. That’s where 7 rivals of gangster² Al Capone are gunned down in a garage during prohibition³ .

1989Iran's leader Ayatollah Khomeini calls on Muslims to kill author Salman Rushdie. Khomeini declares Rushdie’s novel "The Satanic Verses" as blasphemous⁴ towards Islam.

2002“the first and greatest crime was the aggression⁵ itself…” Acting⁶ as his own lawyer, former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic launches his defense⁷ against war crime’s charges. Milosevic’s case before international tribunal in the Netherlands faces many delays because of his poor health. More than four years later, Milosevic dies in custody⁸ while still on trial.

And 2003Dolly, the sheep, the first mammal clone from an adult cell is put to death at six years old. The sheep meets her end after premature⁹ aging and disease marred¹⁰ her short existence.
