Chicago('s)getting knocked out in the first round. It's just absolutely incredible1 to me.
It took the wind out of everyone sails,I was gasping2.
It was quiet, like there is no one was moving. Everyone was just so shocked.
The only thing I can think is they keep talking about the danger of the first round where people vote for their favorites, not necessary the city they think is the best. Then I think that's what happened.
It would help if we have more support. There (would) should've been a bit more people down here. The community should've been more behind the bid3.
Chicago was the front runner, that kinda made me nervous because they were saying on the news, you know, it's always at the last minute; you never know somebody else can knock you out. And, well, I feel like I got knocked out right now. So..
Part of me wonders how we could've been so wrong about this. I think we were all really confident that we'd at least make it to the final round.
We've really thought those gonna come down to Rio and Chicago. And well, it just broke everyone's hearts.
Well, it's so sad today that we didn't end up making it. It's really fun to look around and just see the team spirit, you know, see everyone's love for Chicago, everyone to come down here.
You know, I'm proud of the city and we are still great. Go Chicago!
