　　In summer, we experience hurricanes. 夏天会刮飓风。

　　When a hurricane comes, winds blow strongly and it rains a lot. 飓风来临时，会伴有强风和大雨。

　　So, what happens if we have a hurricane in winter? 那么，冬天刮飓风会怎么样呢？

　　It is called a blizzard. 我们称之为暴风雪。

　　When a blizzard comes, the temperature is very low, winds blow strongly with heavy snow. 暴风雪来临时，温度会很低，狂风挟裹着暴雪。

　　In some areas, blizzards² come more often than in other areas. 有些区域的暴风雪比其他区域来得更加频繁。

　　In the United States, north-eastern areas such as New York, Massachusetts or Connecticut experience blizzards a lot. 美国东北部地区如纽约州、马塞诸塞州或康涅狄格州会刮很多暴风雪。
