 Farewells are always something that tears at our hearts. These make us wish that we would never have to go through with these painful events. Saying goodbye to a loved one at the airport has become famous in movies. They try to portray¹ the deep emotions that touch us. We cannot help but cry as two lovers go their separate ways, never to see each other again as it happened in films like Casablanca. Seeing somebody off can really change the way we view them. Old friends or lovers change in our minds as we realize we will no longer see them again. This can only contrast as we reencounter those we have long been separated from. Returning to the same airport, we feel joyful². This is because we see someone who has been gone for such a long time. There, we can renew old acquaintances and catch up on all the things we missed. We can also share in old memories. We look for the old characteristics of the people we know and love. These times are filled with emotion, which is why those movies which effectively show it become classics.
