M: I never expected that we would get back that late.

W: Well, some things just happen.

M: That's true. Please tell your dad that I am sorry.

W: Sure, I think he'll understand.

W: Is it about the tickets?

M: Yes, I'm really sorry that I didn't invite you to the game.

I thought you already have plans.

W: Yes, I thought your mum said you were going to Jane's house.

M: Well, thanks for your apologising. Maybe we can go some other time.
