戴姆勒公司发布公告 辱华高管遭免职

 　　Daimler last Monday apologized and removed a senior executive after he was accused of making disparaging¹ remarks about China.

　　戴姆勒公司上周一对一位被指发表辱华言论的高管进行了免职处理，并向公众致歉。

　　Rainer Gartner, who headed Daimler's local trucks and buses unit, made insulting comments about Chinese people during a parking row with a Chinese driver at a residential² community in Beijing's Shunyi district.

　　戴姆勒卡客车(中国)有限公司高管雷内·高海纳在北京市顺义区某居民区与一名中国司机发生停车纠纷时辱骂中国人。

　　He also used pepper spray to disperse³ people angered by his remark.

　　"His conduct went against the values of 'equality and respect' that Daimler has long upheld," Daimler said in a statement. "We have immediately relieved the manager of his position," it said.

　　"We sincerely apologize for the concerns raised by this matter".

　　The incident received wide public attention after two local newspapers－the Beijing Times and Beijing News－reported it on their websites respectively. It also became a hot topic on China's popular Sina Weibo microblog.
