宾语从句与否定转移

 　　当动词think, believe¹, suppose², expect³, imagine⁴ 后接一个表示否定意义的宾语从句时，其否定通常转移到主语：

　　I don't suppose that it is true⁵. 我认为那不是真的。

　　I don't imagine that he will come. 我想他不会来的。

　　I don't think we need waste⁶ much time on it. 我想我们不必在这上面花太多时间

　　We didn't think we'd be this late. 我们没想到我们会到得这么晚。

　　I don't suppose I'll trouble⁷ you again. 我想我不要再麻烦你了。

1 believe   

v.相信；认为

参考例句：

• Believe it or not,that's the way it is.信不信由你，反正事情就是这样。
• I believe what you say.我相信你的话。

2 suppose   

v.料想，猜测；假定，以为；（祈使句）让，设

参考例句：

• I suppose he will be back by eight o'clock.我想他八点钟以前会回来。
• Suppose he can't come,who will do the work?如果他不能前来，谁来做这项工作呢？

3 expect   

vt.预期，期待，料想

参考例句：

• Don't expect me to run after you all your life.别指望我伺候你一辈子。
• Don't expect too much of his idea.不要对他的主意期望过高。

4 imagine   

vt.想象，设想；料想，猜想

参考例句：

• I don't imagine they will come if it rains.我认为天如果下雨，他们是不会来的。
• You don't imagine it is true.你别想像那是真的。

5 true   

a.真实，不假的；忠实，可靠的；正确无误的

参考例句：

• He who doesn't reach the Great Wall is not a true man.不到长城非好汉。
• I will come and see if it is true.我要来了解一下，是否真有其事。

6 waste   

v.浪费；滥用

参考例句：

• Ah!This is a waste of time!啊，真是浪费时间！
• If you give her money,she'll only waste it.如果你把这笔钱给她，她只会把它浪费掉。

7 trouble   

n.苦恼，麻烦；故障；动乱；vt.麻烦 vi.费神

参考例句：

• I hate to trouble you.我真不愿麻烦你。
• The trouble is that he doesn't have enough money.麻烦在于他缺钱。
