【简明语法】16.8 It is (high) time that

　 It is (high¹) time that 后面的从句谓语动词要用过去式或用should加动词原形，但should不可省略。
　 It is time that the children went² to bed.
　 It is high time that the children should go to bed.

1 high   

adj.高的，高度的，高级的，高尚的；adv.高高地

参考例句：

• How high are we flying?我们飞行高度是多少？
• How high is the mountain?这山有多高？

2 went   

v.go的过去式

参考例句：

• We often went fishing last year.去年我们经常去钓鱼。
• She went upstairs at once.她立即上楼去了。
