And you are in college?
I’m in college.
Yeah, you want, can you tell people where you get to school? Or I mean, you know where you go to school at all accounts? Right?
Exactly.
What’s it like being up there at the school and the staff?
Er, it’s wonderful at the school.
How do the coeds treat you, the other coeds?
Ur, they, first couple of weeks for a bit, you know, were a bit strange, but then, er…And…Watson, well, not only are you in college but you are away from home, too.
Yes, exactly. I didn’t realize quite how big the cultural gap is, but it’s actually much more significant.
For example, how much more significant is it? Because I don’t think about it, I don’t live in England, so I don’t know.
Well, you see I thought it was just gonna be like, you know, tomato, tomato. And a few very minor language differences. But actually, you know, I find day to day there are things that I’m unable to communicate. I really need um…well, I would call a plaster the other day. I was bleeding, quite heavily. And I was running around saying "hi, guys please, I really need a plaster, I really need a plaster" and they just had no idea what I was talking about. And it took, almost took about five or six minutes to walk out that what I wanted was a band-aid.
Band-aid, yeah. But see that's something about American kids, they know you are bleeding, but yet they can’t put two and two together. Oh I wonder, I wonder maybe she’s talking about a band-aid. How did you cut yourself?
The most embarrassing was I had no idea, and please excuse me that you guys call a condom a rubber. So my version, my version of a rubber is like an eraser. So I've done that-very loudly asked for a rubber. And people, people gave me strange looks.
Yeah.
And that was embarrassing, that was embarrassing.
