1. The big budget battle starts on the Hill today. President Obama’s budget chief will testify before a House committee today about the administration's nearly four-trillion-dollar spending plan. Republicans say proposed cuts aren't deep enough.
2.Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi has been ordered to stand trial on sex and abuse of power charges. Berlusconi is under investigation for allegedly paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl. The teenager says Berlusconi gave her cash and jewelry. But both she and Berlusconi deny a sexual relationship.
3. The head of General Motor says the US automaker will keep a focus on China’s massive and growing market. Daniel Akerson spoke at a Beijing news conference Tuesday. Akerson said GM plans to launch more than 20 new or redesigned cars in China over the next two years.
4. And they are bagging for cash in Las Vegas. The top grocery clerks in the country are competing for a $10,000 top prize. The Best-Bagger-Contest is part of the national grocers' annual convention. |
