[00:12.50]For a longtime,I dreamed for doing something
[00:15.81]in Western China
[00:17.50]and last year I finally became
[00:20.27]a volunteer teacher.
[00:22.21]It has changed my life completely!
[00:25.33]I traveled a long way to a small village school
[00:29.02]in Long zhou,Guang Xi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
[00:33.26]On my way there,I thought about the village,
[00:36.54]the school,the first day,and the children there
[00:40.75]However,my heart sank when I arrived there,
[00:45.18]it wasn't what I expected.
[00:48.08]It didn't look like a school at all!
[00:51.30]The school had only three rooms,
[00:54.47]one for Grade 1,2,and 3.
[00:57.72]And the other for Grade 4,5,and 6.
[01:02.26]There was a third classroom for me.
[01:05.57]The children welcomed me warmly
[01:07.96]on my first day.
[01:09.68]They asked me a lot of questions,
[01:12.30]and I told them stories about myself
[01:15.27]and my life in Shanghai.
[01:17.96]The next day,I gave them a test
[01:20.90]to find out their level.
[01:22.98]To my surprise,over half of the students
[01:26.38]failed the test,
[01:28.20]but they all wanted to learn new things.

[01:41.27]I enjoyed teaching these lovely

[02:49.75]in the southeast of China
[02:51.73]I studied law in Xiamen.

[02:55.80]to do a mater's degree.

[02:59.53]Yes,but I decided to work as a volunteer

[03:37.72]at Zhejiang University.

[03:43.75]He went to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
[03:46.58]and worked as a doctor.
[03:48.83]At first,he worked very hard.
[03:51.88]But he felt lonely because he was a long way
[03:54.91]from home.
[03:56.33]Sometimes he felt like giving up.
[03:59.22]But after a short time,
[04:00.94]he was able to make many new friends.
[04:03.68]People there were kind and warm-hearted.

[04:11.98]of volunteer service and returned home.
