[00:00.00]And how do you actually teach pupils to
[00:03.80]"organise their group?"
[00:05.65]What practical experience do they get,
[00:07.07]in this respect?
[00:08.68]We have representatives from each class
[00:10.71]on a school council.
[00:12.38]The school council is able to make observations
[00:15.68]about the management,
[00:16.62]the organization of the school.
[00:18.02]They're able to suggest things that need to
[00:20.04]improve in the school, that need to change.
[00:22.42]Essentially we try to give them a say within
[00:24.75]the organization of the school…
[00:26.61]One of the other skills that we teach is to do
[00:29.88]with er being able to work with other people-
[00:33.89]teamwork yah,so the ability to be a member of a
[00:36.60]group,to listen within that group and also to
[00:39.60]develop a degree of empathy and tolerance of
[00:42.29]other viewpoints and perspectives within that
[00:44.28]group…and the need to channel one's energies
[00:47.61]into the common good rather than simply
[00:50.08]pursuing the one's own interests.
[00:53.22]So do you have actual lessons called"teamwork"?
[00:56.83]It's not a timetabled subject as such,
[00:58.98]but what it is.
[01:00.00]It's an approach that we try to weave in to the
[01:03.03]normal teaching that we do in the school.
