3. Heavy fire ran out near Ivory Coast’s presidential residence as the country’s strongman remained holed up in a bunker. Laurent Gbagbo has refused to step down after losing last year's presidential election. Forces loyal to his opponent have reportedly entered Gbagbo's compound.

4. Texas A&M has won its first national championship in Women's basketball by defeating Notre Dame 76 to 70 at Indianapolis Tuesday night. The Aggies overcame a seven-point second half deficit to take the title.
