Hello, Jessica Askin with the national weather.

Cloud sweeping over the south-east along a front and trough is bringing widespread rain to SA, VIC and western NSW. Broken cloud across southern WA behind the weak front is producing showers.

Expected isolated shower is above the QLD coast today, it should be dry over the interior with light to moderate north-easterly winds.

In NSW isolated showers along the coast contracting north and then clearing. Patchy rain  developing over the remaining southern and central districts.

Areas of rain’s extending through the far east of VIC today tending to isolated showers in the west.

TAS can expect rain throughout, although it should be patchy in the east and south.

For SA, areas of rain are expected throughout the other coastal and southern pastoral districts

A shower or two in Perth increasing this afternoon with the rest of the evening thunderstorm. Rain should ease throughout the rest of the state.

And warm in the NT today with some possible light rain developing later in the day. It should be fine and sunny north of the Alice Springs district.

And Sunday  will bring rain to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide with a chance of shower in Perth and some cloudy patches in the north.
