Hello, Jessica Askin with the National Weather.

Taking a look at the satellite image first, and cloud trailing over Victoria and southern New South Wales is causing a little bit of rain. And a cloud band extending over WA in a trough is generating thundery showers.

To Queensland, and isolated showers and thunderstorms generally above the tropic state and over the southeast interior this afternoon. It should stay hot in the west.

In New South Wales, isolated thunderstorms expected above the northern half of the ranges this afternoon or this evening, with a chance of some light showers on the south coast later in day. But it should be otherwise fine.

Fine and mainly sunny in Victoria today and hot inland, but it should be mild there near the coast.

To Tasmania, it should be fine until patchy rain develops tonight.

Hot to very hot and dry again in South Australia today, a southwest to southerly change should reach Ceduna later though.

In the west, isolated afternoon thunderstorms and showers should develop in the southeast coastal district.

Further north, isolated showers and thunderstorms above the Kimberly this afternoon and in the northern territory. It should be fine in the south and hot inland.

Looking ahead to Monday now, a warm day is expected down much of the east coast and it should be fine in the west.
