Hello, Kirsty Heenan with the National Weather.
Checking the satellite picture first and a cloud across much of the east is generating showers and storms in Queensland and flooding in eastern New South Wales. Cloud across the interior and south is triggering storms while a band of cloud behind this is producing a few showers.
To the states now, a relatively cool day expected in Queensland, there will be scattered showers and storms across the southeast and southern regions.
More rain and showers in New South Wales today, a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the north coast and flood warning is still in place across the east.
To Victoria, early drizzle over Gippsland with isolated showers above the eastern ranges and northwest during the afternoon, warm and generally dry elsewhere.
A mostly sunny day for Tasmania, cloudy periods in the east and northeast with some possible light drizzle.
To South Australia, warm to hot above the south coast and very hot inland. Isolated showers are possible over the Northeast Pastoral district.
Cloudy with some light rain over southern parts of WA, further north, isolated showers are expected in the Kimberley and showers and storms for the Top End to the Northern Territory, mostly hot and sunny elsewhere.
Looking ahead to conditions of the capitals for tomorrow now, showers for Brisbane and Canberra, rain will persist in Sydney, mostly sunny for Melbourne and Hobart, sunny and dry in Adelaide and Perth, and storms for Darwin. |
