Hello, Kathryn Stolarchuk with the National Weather.

Checking the satellite picture, and thick cloud from the north to the southeast is generating rain and storms, leading to flooding in Queensland and New South Wales. Patchy cloud forming over South Australia could cause the odd thundery shower.

Onto the states, and rain areas and thunderstorms with moderate to heavy falls are forecast for western districts of Queensland, clearing in the southwest.

More rain is on the way for northwest, central and southeastern districts of New South Wales with local heavy falls. Expect showers and possible thunderstorms in other areas, apart from the far northeast and far southwest.

Onto Victoria, and isolated showers will increase to scattered showers over most districts with rain areas in the far east.

In Tasmania, it should be a cloudy day with scattered showers above northern, eastern and central areas. It will be mostly fine elsewhere.

Some showers are expected off the West Coast of South Australia. It will be mild to warm in the south and warm to hot for the rest of the state.

For Western Australia, it will be a mostly cloudy day with clearing drizzle patches.

Looking further north, isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the Kimberley and Northern Territory.

Taking a look at Monday's forecasts now, and the unsettled weather is set to continue across the eastern capitals. It will be partly cloudy in Hobart and Adelaide and another hot day in Perth.
