Hello, Claire Aird with the National Weather.
Taking a look at the satellite picture first and cloud crossing WA ahead of a front is only bringing the odd light shower. Cloud over the interior and western South Australia is triggering showers and storms. Patchy cloud over the eastern seaboard is causing showers.
In Queensland today, there’ll be scattered rain and strong winds along the east coast, isolated showers over inland areas and heavy falls for the tropical north.
In New South Wales, isolated showers ahead for the north and central coast, and nearby ranges. It’ll be a warm and mainly sunny day in Victoria, apart from early fog patches in the south.
Tasmania will also be fine apart from some early fog, light to moderate northwest to northeast winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes above the south.
A few showers and storms are expected over southern parts of South Australia and the western agricultural district.
In WA, there’ll be some light showers above the south, southwest and southeast with a chance of rain above the southern coastal districts early on, and a storm or two possible in the southwest.
Showers and thunderstorms for the Kimberley, and in the Territory, it’ll be fine east of Alice, and storms and rain elsewhere.
Looking ahead, there’ll be rain in Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns, storms in Darwin and Broome, Perth will hit tops of 26, Adelaide 32 and Canberra 24. |
