Hello, Nick Lucchinelli with the National Weather. A tropical low and weak monsoon is driving heavy rain and storms over northern parts of the territory in Queensland. Thick cloud over coastal South Australia is bringing rain, mainly to the west. In Queensland, there will be scattered showers over Cape York, isolated rain in the eastern, thunderstorms over the Gulf Country. In New South Wales, there will be a few showers above the north coast with possible thunderstorms above the Central Ranges. It will be cloudy across much of the rest of the state. Mostly cloudy across Victoria, showers clearing in the eastern, areas of rain extending from the west throughout the day, warm to hot northerly winds across the western south will reach gale force at times. Tasmania will see scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms above the north and northeast. Rain will extend across the state from the afternoon. In South Australia, isolated showers and thunderstorms near the coast,reaching inland areas by evening, mild to warm over inland areas with hot temperatures in the north of the state. A few showers and storms across the south of Western Australia, mainly near the coast. And the Northern Territory will see areas of heavy rain and a few storms in the northeast. Looking ahead, storms in Sydney, Darwin, Alice Springs and Canberra; Showers in Brisbane, Cairns, Adelaide, Melbourne and Hobart. Perth will be sunny hitting top temperatures of 29 degrees.
