It's a cloudy day from the interior into the east. Now that's a head of a trough, and we've also got cloud that's pushing through the southeast with gusty showers and storms. Now warm gusty northwesterly winds ahead of the trough over in the east and the storms over northern New South Walesand western Queensland because of this trough. As a front moves over the southeast, we'll see more strong winds, showers, hail and snow. Around the states today, and in Queensland, you've got patchy rain spreading across the interior, warm in the south ahead of a gusty change with showers extending from the southwest. New South Wales, rain across the north and isolated showers over the southern inland and ranges and snow on the Alps strong west to northwesterly winds. For Victoria, scattered showers, mostly over the southwest and above the ranges. By tonight, the snow will lower to around 800 metres. In Tasmania, a showery day ahead with isolated thunderstorms in the north and over in the west. And snow will gradually lower down to 600 metres by tonight, gusty northwesterly winds. The South Australia, a windy day with showers in the south, mainly across the coast and ranges. Rain in the northeast will begin to clear. In Western Australia, a cold morning in the south with early morning frost, a few clearing showers along the coast and warm easterly winds up in the north. Isolated showers above the Top End, and we can expect a cooler change across the southern parts of the Northern Territory. A look ahead to tomorrow, and a shower or two expected in Adelaide,Perth. And in Melbourne with a top of just 13 degrees. |
