And there’s low in the northern tropics. The Bureau is warning it could still develop into a cyclone. And at the moment, it’s generating heavy squally rain across the Kimberley and Top End. A northern trough is triggering more patchy rain around Cape York, while low cloud in the east is maintaining scattered showers in Tasmania. Around the states:
And Queensland can expect a mostly wet day with showers in most parts. The south-west should be fairly dry, though.
That rain will extend down to northern New South Wales, but the rest of the state should be mostly warm and fine.
In Victoria, there will be isolated showers on and south of the ranges. And about the coastal fringe, it should be mostly fine in the north.
A few scattered showers about the west and south of Tasmania today, but they should contract to the east by the early afternoon.
A mostly clear and dry day for South Australia apart from some light drizzle about the coast.
Western Australia can expect a fine dry day in the south, but further north that tropical low is generating heavy rain and strong winds. And a cyclone warning is still current from Kalumburu to Beagle Bay. That low is also bringing heavy rain to the Top End with possible flooding in the Darwin-Daly district.
And looking ahead to Monday: a wet day for most eastern capitals, mostly sunny in Canberra and Adelaide, fine for Perth, showers and storms for Darwin. |
