Hector Cuper resigns as Racing Santander coach(在线收听) |
MADRID, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Hector Cuper resigned as coach of Spanish La Liga club Racing Santander on Tuesday. Cuper, who has previously coached Valencia, Mallorca and Betis in Spain, leaves Racing with the club rock bottom of the league and with just one win and a total of nine points from the first 13 games of the season.
The Argentinean is the second coach to lose their job in the La Liga this season, following Michael Laudrup who left Mallorca as a result of his poor relationship with the club's maximum shareholder Llorenc Serra Ferrer.
It is another blow for cash-strapped Racing, whose President Francisco Pernia is currently looking for new investors after the club's owner Ali Syed failed to invest the money he promised that he would after taking over the club last season.
Pernia will now also have the task of finding a coach willing to take over a club that was unable to replace key players over the summer and which looks unlikely to be able to spend any further money when the transfer window opens in January. |
