It also extends jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed. 2. A military court continues to hear evidence against army private first-class Bradley Manning. The 24-year-old is accused of leaking US military and diplomatic secrets to the WikiLeaks website.
3. More than 400 people have been killed by flash floods in the Philippines. Many were swept away while they slept. The floods came after hours of heavy rain from a tropic storm.
4. Defense secretary Leon Panetta is the first Pentagon chief to ever set foot on Libyan solid. Panetta's visit comes just after an eight-month civil war ousted Muammar Gadhafi. |
