The pilot was taking to the hospital after the plane made an emergency stop in Amarillo, Texas. 2. Firefighters near Denver hope to use air tankers to battle a wild fire. 3. Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich laid off about one third of his staff. His spokesman says Gingrich will focus his energy on trying to convince delegates to support him instead of Mitt Romney.
