Mexico holds on to No. 20 spot in FIFA rankings(在线收听

   MEXICO CITY, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Mexico's national team holds on to its 20th spot as soccer's world governing body FIFA released the latest world rankings on Wednesday.

  Mexico, known as the Tricolor for its red, white and green flag-colored uniforms, continues to lead in its regional Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) with a total of 867 points, shutting out regional arch rival the United States, which is ranked 29th worldwide with a score of 779 points.
  The North American federation's third-place finisher is El Salvador, which managed to make it into the world's top 50 teams at No. 49, with 591 points. Costa Rica is fourth in the 59th place with 549 points, and 2010 World Cup team Honduras, in 62nd place with 540 points.
  Spain tops the rankings with a total of 1,442 points, followed by Germany with 1,345 points.
  Top Latin American team Uruguay is the world's third-best with 1,309 points.
  FIFA will next update its rankings on June 6.
